There’s nothing quite like a well made game. It sits at this perfect intersection between a compelling story, engaging mechanics, enthralling aesthetics and that special je ne sais quoi that always creates something larger than the sum of its parts. That’s what gets us fired up.

We’re 3301, and we make games. Primarily of the real-world variety. Our two co-founders have over 35 years of combined experience making successful games online, in print, (and even in person,) that have won some serious awards and nominations. And, after decades spent crafting the visions of others, 3301 is on a mission to craft games we can be proud of.

Co-Founder

Matt “Cap” Marsters
Co-Founder

Sean has always found ways to weave games and storytelling into his life. From foam sword fights in his youth... to foam sword fights in his adulthood, he has always honed his craft for characters and compelling narratives.

Although his pen may be mightier than his (foam) sword, as his most recent professional experience saw him face numerical foes in the world of corporate accounting and finance. He brings this balance of logical pragmatism and irrepressible storyteller to 3301 Games.

A curious and bombastic person, "Cap" has been working for over a decade creating games and other entertaining interactive experiences for major media clients like Disney and NBCUniversal (as a member of Her Majesty's prestigious Neo-Pangea Society). He loves marrying narrative to mechanics, creating balanced and compelling experiences, and getting wayyyy too into the details.

Ben Danforth
Partner

A student of physics and art, Ben has always enjoyed merging the logical and the creative. Games have long been a part of his life, from growing up with video games and AOL text RP Chats, to years working in a board game store, to years of running and playing in TTRPG's.

The collaborative nature and emergent storytelling places cooperative games and TTRPG's amongst his favorites. An avid collector of rulesets he loves to dissect elegant systems that support interesting storytelling. Recently, Ben has worked professionally as a data scientist but looks forward to pointing his analytical wizardry towards more creative endeavors.
